German States Impressive forestry dagger "Hirschfänger"
Around 1840. A nice etched blade to two sides. With beautiful gilded motifs on blued background on both sides. White grip plates with three applied acorns on the front. A fine crack to the top, but no chips. Lion's head pommel. Gilded brass hilt fittings. The clamshell shows the picture of laying deer.
Leather scabbard with gilded brass fittings. In the upper area of the scabbard, there is an additional pocket for a small hunting knife (it is missing). Remains of glue on both scabbard fittings. Signs of use.
The blade can no longer be pushed completely into the scabbard.
