A rare "been there" M42 Luftwaffe single decal camo helmet which was damaged by a splinter shell. It hit the helmet to the backside and was stopped by the inner liner ring. Liner, rivets and shell definitely belonged together. The chin strap is also perfectly matching as well and damaged to the small part. The shell is NS64 marked to the reverse. It interestingly comes rest of a period time green camo paint left to the shell. The eagle is about 80%.
Overall an untouched helmet which could certainly tell some story.
