Description

John W. Askren was from York County in Pennsylvania, ID O-365655, Captain of the US Army who died of his wounds and was awarded the Purple Heart, besides the World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation and Army Good Conduct Medal.

Here is Purple heart made from gilded metal and enamel. Reverse shows the engraving of his name.
