Very rare “Crete” (Kreta) Wehrpass, Fallschirm Schein (Jump Card) and Ausweiss. Obergrefreiter Karl Büchner was born February 18, 1919, and drafted into the army august 30, 1939, after his time in the Reichsarbeitsdienst. He was a learned pastry chef.

He than fought with the 1st Kompanie Sturmregiment, landed by Glider, aside his commander and Knight’s Cross winner Alfred Genz in Crete. They took out anti aircraft position before linking up with the 3rd Paratrooper Regiment. Wehrpass has entries for the Paratrooper Badge and Iron Cross 2nd Class. He was later posted with other Fallschirmjäger units until he ended up with Knight’s Cross winner Karl Heinz Beckers of the 9th Kompanie Sturmregiment.

He tragically took his own life after learning about his bride's death with his service revolver at this parents house. There is a note on his grey ID card: "Am 24.10.42. Selbstmord durch Erschießen mit der Dienstwaffe" as well as inside the Wehrpaß: "24.10.42 Selbstmord durch Erschießen mit der Dienstwaffe in der elterlichen Wohnung Angeblich Ursache: Tod seiner Braut."
