Unique photo album to Knight's Cross winner Major Herbert Eltrich. Herbert Eltrich was born on March 19th, 1913 in Landsberg an der Warthe/Brandenburg. He served as commander of "Pionier Bataillon 52" and with "Panzer Pionier Lehr Bataillon 130". He was killed in action at the during the Normandy battles just over two months after D-Day on August 12th, 1944 in Falaise, Normandy.
Eltrich was awarded the Knight's Cross on December 9th, 1943. Furthermore, he was awarded the Close Combat Clasp in bronze for at least 15 days of close combat.
The album consists of 190 photos of which 34 show Herbert Eltrich as a soldier. On most of the photos he wears the Knight's Cross.
