Description

Grouping to Oberleutnant Otto Nicolaus serving as company commander of the 1./Divisions-Füsilier-Bataillon 277. Killed in action on 16. July 1944 during the battles in Normandy.

Wehrpass issued on 2. February 1937. Original attached photo. Awards: Croatian Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir 3rd Class with swords on 19.12.1943, Croatian Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir 3rd Class with Oak Leaves on 31.12.1943 and 1939 Iron Cross on 25.2.1944. Listed on page 23. His 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class award is not listed in the Wehrpass. An interesting campaign list from 27.8.1939 until 16.7.1944. Involved in anti-partisan combat "Bandenbekämpfung" in Itlay and in the battles in Normandy. Noted on page 32 and 33. The Wehrpass is separated from the cover.

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 16.1.1944. Signed by General der Gebirgstruppen Ludwig Kübler (Knight's Cross winner). The back comes with a dedication by Hauptmann Uhl. Dated "1. March 1944". Once folded.

1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class on original ribbon. Three-part construction. Iron core. Original black paint.

A letter from a Major to his wife Marianne. He tells her that her husband died in Normandy. Including two death notices. 

Prewar photo album. It documents his Voluntary Labor Service "FAD" as well as his military education. The photos were taken from 1933 until 1937. A few photos were removed. Roughly 226 photos. Furthermore two nice portrait photos of him.

In addition, a double-sided promotion document as well as other period time documents.
