VIEW DESCRIPTION

Certificate to 1939 Iron Cross 2nc Class. Issued on 19. May 1942 to Unteroffizier Fritz Gebhardt serving with Infanterie-Regiment 351. Originally signed by Generalmajor August Dettling (German Cross in gold winner). The back of the certificate contains a report (reason) for the award of the Iron Cross. Uffz. Gebhardt always made the wire connection to the battalion during the battle, despite heavy machine gunfire. Signed by an Oberst.
