Description

An impressive candleholder. Made from real silver. "835" silver hallmark as well as "Wilkens Hamburg" maker marked to the bottom. Weight: 690 gr. Height: 21 cm.

The holder comes with a nice hand engraving "Dem Herrn Landesjägermeister REICHSSTATTHALTER GENERAL RITTER VON EPP zum 16. Oktober 1941 mit Waidmannsheil und Horrido!" and "THEO CRONEISS Gaujägermeister der Oberpfalz". It was a gift from SS-Brigadeführer and Wehrwirtschaftsführer Theodor Croneiß to Reichsstatthalter Franz Ritter von Epp.

Theodor Croneiß (1894-1942) was a WWI fighter pilot credited with five aerial victories. He founded the Bayerischen Flugzeugwerke Regensburg GmbH in 1936. From 1937 until 1941 he led the factory (1941 renamed Messerschmitt Regensburg GmbH). Willy Messerschmitt was a very close friend to him. In April 1942, he was finally appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of the entire company, Messerschmitt AG, and also became the plant manager of the Augsburg plant. Awarded with SS Degen and SS Honor Ring. His SS-number was 310.389.

Including five period time photos showing the burial of Theodor Croneiß on 10.11.1942 in the Messerschmitt-Werke in Regensburg. Willy Messerschmitt and high-ranking political leaders visited his funeral. Very good to see in the photos. Furthermore one photo of a Luftwaffe General. Taken in April/Mai 1943 at the Messerschmitt Werke.
