Well worn M40 sidecap which was once issued to a Kavallerie soldier. You can still see gold-yellow threads of the former soutache inside. A new white soutache to make it an infantry cap was period time added once this soldier switched units.
Machine-woven M40 cap insignia which are clearly period time attached.
