Rare Kriegsmarine photo album of U 588. The album shows beautiful pictures of the officers and the crew as well as the commander Korvettenkapitän Vikor Vogel. Shots from a training mission and from a "Feinfahrt" combat mission. Excellent photos of the conning tower showing the emblem of U 588 (two battle-ready roosters). Total: 75 photos.
U 588 was sunk by the Canadian destroyer HMCS Skeena on 31. Juli 1942 in the North Atlantic near St. Johns (Newfoundland). No one survived the attack.
