Description

Four photo albums of a Luftwaffe officer. He served with the Imperial Air Force as early as the First World War.

The first album begins in 1910 with a shot of a so-called "Etrich Taube" aircraft. Around 1933 he joined the DLV. From this period there are two nice photos of Pour le Mèrite winner Ernst Udet. At the beginning of WWII, he was in the rank of a Luftwaffe Hauptmann. In the further course numerous photos of his WWII service. He was in action in various countries. Among them are photos of the funeral and air crash (shot down) of Helmut Kalkstein. They served together in WWI. Photographs of Luftwaffe Oak Leaves winner Heinrich Prinz zu Syan-Wittgenstein and Pour le Mèrite winner Arthur Laumann as well as of Wilhelm Aschenborn. Aschenborn was the observer to Oswald Boelcke (FFA 62). Numerous handwritten notes by him inside, so that his career can be traced very well.

In total: 667 photos.
