Description

Impressive silver cup presented by the officer's corps of I. battalion of 1. Hannoversches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 74 to "Hauptmann Saal" in 1911.

Hand-engraved:
"Dem Hauptmann Saal das Offizier-Korps des I. Hannov. Inft.Regts.No 74 - 1.10.92 - 20.4.11"

The cup was designed in a Saxon style showing a separately attached "Rautenkranz" as well as "black and gold" horizontal lines.
The engraving was added up-side-down.

Real silver. Markings to the bottom: "800" stamped as well as marked with half-moon and crown. An unreadable maker's mark.

Impressive parting gift, functional and beautiful at the same time.
