Description

Comprehensive grouping to Machinenobergefreiter Alois Metzger serving on the destroyer „Anton Schmitt“ during WWII. Metzger was not only awarded the Destroyer War Badge but also the Larvik Shield for his service in Norway.

Certificate to the Destroyer War Badge issued in October 1940. A little sun-bleached.
Certificate to the Narvik Shield issued to Metzger serving with „Zerstörer Anton Schmitt“. Issued in November 1940.

A large cloth board were he had displayed his medals and insignia including a beautiful GWL made Destroyer War Badge and a gilt zinc NARVIK shield on dark blue cloth backing.
The board also shows a machine-woven cap tally ANTON SCHMITT.
The same cap tally is mounted to his blue sailor’s cap which comes with the original cap insignia.
The cap has a silk lining with intact celluloid diamond and comes with two extra separate white summer tops. Both are nicely named to Metzger.

There is a large piece of cloth cut out of his duffel bag named to him as well. Also, there is his dickie collar to go with the shirt. There is a another complete duffel bag. Also, named to him!

Part of the grouipng are three photo albums. Two are only military related and come with over 420 photos. There is another album with early postwar family photos. You are looking at over 500 photos in total!
