Germany 1918 - 1945

Description

Grouping to Hans Coye serving aboard a U-boat. Based on the field post numbers on his letters, his service can be nicely depicted.

Kriegsmarine Wehrpass. Issued on 6. June 1940. Original applied photo. His military career (units) is listed on pages 16 and 18. He was killed in action on a submarine on 22. October 1943 "Gefallen am 22. Oktober auf einem Unterseeboot". Noted on page 34. The campaign list shows an entry dated 22.10.1943 (difficult to read). No awards are listed. The Wehrpass comes with the original paper cover for fallen soldiers.

16 letters. Most of them are field-post letters from Hans Coye. Field-post numbers: M49652 = U 236, M43571 = U 402 and U 328, M36094 = 3. Unterseebootsflottille

Two Kriegsmarine portrait photos of him and two Kriegsmarine group photos.

Including some documents, workbooks, booklets, identity cards, and a portrait photo (probably of Hans as a teenager). The POW certificate of discharge is from his father Rudolf Coye. Dated "1945".

Signs of use.
