Description

Personal pocket watch of Oberleutnant Heinz Wagner. Knight's Cross winner on 24. January 1943 as a platoon leader of the Kradschützen-Bataillon 6. Part of the 6. Panzer-Divison. He was killed in action on 16. August 1944 at Vilkaviškis. The watch was a gift from his hometown Lüdenscheid. Given by the NSDAP Gau Westfalen-Süd on 3. May 1943.

The watch has a gold-plated dial with a 60-second sub-dial. "Alpina" maker marked. All hands are present and the winding crown is fully functional. Unfortunately, the watch glass is missing. "Walz-Gold-Double 50 Mikron" hallmarked and numbered "916575". Comes with a personal dedication (engraving) to him "Die dankbare Heimat ihrem Ritterkreuzträger Oberleutnant Heinz Wagner. Lüdenscheid, d. 3.5.1943. NSDAP. Gau Westfalen-Süd." A beautiful gilt watch that runs very well.

Includes a portrait photo of him wearing the Knight's Cross. Postcard size. Dated "1944" on the back.

FAD membership card to his brother Herbert Wagner. Issued on 25.09.1935. Original applied photo.
