Hauptmann Mies served as a Staffelkapitän with Sonderstaffel GS 1 and was also a pilot of the Messerschmitt Me 323 "Gigant". Deployed on the Eastern Front, Africa, and Riga.
An impressive table model of the military transport aircraft Me 323 "Gigant". Made of wood. It was a gift from the technicians of the 1st Squadron to the Staffelkapitän for his wedding.
On the front of the base, there is an engraved metal tag with the text "Unserem Staffelkapitän zur Vermählung. Die Techniker der 1. Staffel".
