Description

This is an almost mint, high-quality General's greatcoat that was worn by Generalleutnant Franz Westhoven (1894 - 1983). He served in Army Group North during Operation Barbarossa and also held various other positions, including the command of the 3rd Panzer Division and deputy commands of the 21st Panzer and 2nd Panzer divisions towards the end of the war.

Lining: File Silk, quilted. Has maker tag of "Wilhelm Holters, Berlin". Has also a name tag in the name of "Oberstleutnant Westhoven"
Shoulder Boards: Generals Grade, one board is missing the pip for Generalleutnant. Has a small moth hole on the underside.
Buttons: Gilted, complete.
Hanger: Complete sword hanger with grey leather and metal clip.

An excellent example of an upgraded and tailored greatcoat, worn from his time as Oberstleutnant to Generalleutnant.
