Description

Personal so-called "Zweispitz" of Admiral Günther Lütjens (1889 - 1941), commander of battleship B I S M A R C K, which was sunk on 27. May 1941.

Lütjens daughter gave this Zweispitz as a present to a young collector about 50 years ago. She worked as a doctor in a hospital. The mother of this young collector was a colleague of Mrs. Lütjens who wanted to make this boy happy. The young collector is now over 60 years old and will provide a signed statement confirming the provenience of this Zweispitz to the winner of this unique piece of history.

Elegant privately purchased so-called "Zweispitz" für Admirals of the Kriegsmarine.

Fine black "Nadelfilz" finished body with impressive wide gold color tress showing a nice patina. Simply attached with gold color thread quite sloppy after his promotion. Gold bullion fringe to the top of both ends. Gilt Kriegsmarine Zweipitz button with separately attached eagle. Black-white-red national color ribbon from ribbed silk.
Gold bullion so-called "Agraffe" with dark patina.

Chocolate brown sweat-band with signs of wear. Fine silver silk lining with his printed name "LÜTJENS" (gilt).

Extremely rare.
