Description

A re-tailored EM/NCO field tunic for an officer's field of the Gebirgsjäger. The collar and cuffs have been upgraded by the tailor for a more prominent and formal look. Originally issued as an M36 or M40 field tunic, this officer has some custom modifications done to this tunic period time. 

 

Breast eagle: EM/NCO model. Period Attached by hand.
Collar tabs: Green piped officer's tabs on green base.  
Shoulder boards: green. Sewn-in. Gilt "138" cyphers. Major
Sleeve badge: EM/NCO Edelweiss badge. Machine-woven. Attached by Machine in zig-zag stitching.
Lining. Cotton lining
Markings: Maker stamp and size stamp.
Buttons: Complete. Original attached.

 

The tunic comes with a 2nd class War Merit Cross ribbon at the 2nd button, a ribbon bar with Austrian medals and also loops for an award. The tunic is in great condition but unfortunately, it has 2 holes on the right sleeve.

A bandage dated 1938 is also included.
