Description

Army officers' sword made by Carl Eickhorn from the Field Marshall series, Pattern 1767 - Lützow.

Ludwig Adolf Wilhelm Freiherr von Lützow was a Prussian Lieutenant General notable for his organization and command of the Lützow Freikorps during the Napoleonic Wars.

This pattern is the rarest of all the Eickhorn Field Marshall series patterns. The sword is in very nice overall condition with a dove head design and a highly detailed hand-engraved handle. Grip wires are intact. The black scabbard has been repainted but has both scabbard lip screws still present. The nickel-plated blade bears the Eickhorn logo stamped on the back. The saber is complete with a green leather army portepee and a nice short type brown leather hanger.
