Description

VIEW DESCRIPTION

An extremely clean example of a German M40 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by Luftwaffe.

Paint: Original factory field grey paint with nice clean finish roughly 95%+ remains

Decals: The eagle decal is about 75% but what is present is crisp with nice detail

Marked Q66 for FW Quist

Lining: Flexible leather lining retaining its original cord is marked 58 on both the insuide and outside. Still soft but showing some patina from wear. On the dome stamp there is an unreadable inspection stamp.

Chin strap is marked 44 so it may not be original to the helmet but is period.

Overall a very well preseved single decal M40 Luftwaffe helmet that will look great in any collection.
