Description

Major Eugen Selhorst was a highly decorated Major of the German Wehrmacht. He was awarded the German Cross in gold on 8.6.1942 as an Oberleutnant with II./Infanterie-Regiment 186 and the Knight's Cross on 6.10.1942 serving as the leader of the I./Infanterie-Regiment 186.

Two tunics, photos and documents were coming from the family about 10 years ago. His medals as well as other uniform items were still at the family at this time. When researching his career, we found out that his medals were sold in 2021: https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/nachlass-des-ritterkreuztraegers-selhorst-803-c-c2848b8b4d
His award documents are still exist.

All items were are offering with this auction have never been in collector's hands before and absolutely fresh to the market. Other personal postwar family related photos and documents are available outside the auction.

Three studio portrait photos of Selhorst wearing the Knight's Cross. He wears exactly the same field tunic being offered in this catalog. One of them shows his Major insignia, exactly the same insignia being still attached to the tunic today!
