Description

Pre 1939 Ortsgruppe Zellenleiter Tunic

Brown four-pocket service tunic with gilt buttons. Ribbon bar above right pocket for 5 awards, signs on right pocket of a badge having been there, probably a NSDAP party member badge. Typical construction worn by NSDAP leaders.

Collar tabs: attached hand sewn on. Blue "Orts" piping. Double gold litzen with swastikas, to indicate rank of Zellenleiter.
Armband: Pre 1939 NSDAP wool armband , a few moth nips or holes as shown.

Lining: Gold color rayon lining. Private maker label above inside breast pocket.

Buttons: Gilt. Complete. Showing eagles with swastikas. Period time attached.
Belt hooks: In place. Period time attached. Gilt belt hooks at each side and back.

Pants: 3 pocket with plastic buttons and string tie and boot strap "Stirrup" to hold pants in place within the boots. Material matches the tunic.

Visor: 1939 style Ortsguppe visor with gilt metal wreath, cockade, and eagle. Gold color cellion chin cord. Sweat diamond in place with ink stamp size "60". RZM tag under pliable sweatband indicating maker "2". Visor has a great shape, no mothing.

Tie: Cloth political leader with RZM tag to reverse

Belt: Brown leather belt with 1939 style gilt buckle maker marked RZM M4/24, gilt clasp maker marked RZM M4/46, both leather keeps present

Suspenders: gray elastic with 3 leather button keepers used to attach to inside pants pocket buttons.

Boots: Black leather with adjustable tops at metal buckles, ink marked inside "19". Metal hobnailed soles and metal heel plate, heels are maker marked. White cloth storage bag included for boots.

Overall a very nice ensemble, complete and ready for display. Note that lower ranking political leaders continued to wear the pre 1939 tabs and armbands until the wars end, but were required to upgrade visors, buttons and belts to conform to the regulations which required gilt rather than silver metal devices.
