The candle holder was a farewell gift to Oberst Hrabak Dietrich from his comrades of Jagdgeschwader 54.

Hand-forged candle holder for for 6 candles. Blackened steel. The center shows the squadron emblem of the 3. Gruppe of Jagdgeschwader 54. The bottom is decorated with oak leaves as well as the engraved tag "Jagdgeschwader 54 vom 5.6.40 - 29.10.42". In November 1942, Hrabak left Jagdgeschwader 54 and was appointed squadron commander of Jagdgeschwader 52.

Oberst Hrabak Dietrich was a flying ace during WWII. He claimed 125 enemy aircraft shot down in over 1000 combat missions. Awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves.
