VIEW DESCRIPTION

Kriegsmarine photo album of U-420 commander Oberleutnant Hans-Jürgen Reese. The album shows the submarine, the crew, the commander Hans-Jürgen Reese and the emblem on the conning tower. U-420 has been missing in the North Atlantic since 20. October 1943.

Our research has shown that U-420 allegedly had no emblem on the conning tower. These photos prove that the submarine did have an emblem. The crossed Kriegsmarine officers' daggers were also used by the following submarines: U-152, U-225, U-419, U-472, U-539, U-596 and U-953.
