Description
Fantastic photo lot of the Propagandakompanie photographer Sommerschuh containing over 1150 original photographs! One unit Sommerschuh must have served with was Propagandakompanie 649. There is a May 1940 dated document part of this grouping confirming this unit.

36 photos in size 8,5cm x 13cm. All in excellent condition and from high quality. All of them come with the original paper telling you the date, place and additional details to the reverse or writing.

Roughly 1122 original small size photos, so-called "Kontaktabzüge". The selection of his best photographs all on period time papers he set up to an album. Every single page is dated and numbered (1-52 with many a,b,c etc...). He wrote information on most of the pages to remember where they were taken. The last photos are 27.5.1941 dated.
A treasure trove!

Interestingly, there are two pages on the famous U-Boot ace Joachim Schepke going skiing with his u-boat crew: "Aufnahmen bei der U-Boot Mannschaft Kptlt. Schepke"

Furthermore, the Campaign in France and Belgium is very well documented: "Maasübergang", "Reichsminister Ribbentrop b.Stab d.6.Div. in Blendiques (Blendecques)". Many photos were taken in Casse, near Dunkerque (Dünkirchen). Also, there are photos taken in a place called Aijan (?) when he documented 4. Panzer-Division just to name a few.

There are plenty of more very interesting photos. We can not show all pages and pictures because there are so many!
