SMS Moltke - WW1 war flag
Description
Original war flag (Reichskriegsflagge) of Schlachtkreuzer SMS Moltke, a well known German battle ship of WW1. It was commissioned in 1911 and sunk in 1919 in Skapa Flow.
The flag belonged to an officer (a later Admiral) of SMS Moltke who took the flag in 1918. The name will be provided to the seller and is mentioned on the document which is part of this offer.
It was given to a museum by the officer's widow in 1982 which the document confirms.
Physical description:
Double sided, printed, linen flag. Small repairs. The reverse shows large bits of repairs and four extra loops. The museum must have restored the flag to the reverse and hung it by using this loops. The front side still looks fine.
No stamps visible. Size: 140cm x 215cm.
The censored hand-written document will be given to the buyer explaining all details.
