Description
Document grouping to Major, Oberpostinspektor and SA-Obersturmführer Dr. Richard Bausch awarded the Knight's Cross of the 1939 Iron Cross on 9.6.1944. Bausch has served as commander of II./Grenadier-Regiment 57 at this time. He was reported missed in action on 4.1.1945 but managed to return to his unit. Bausch died in 1974 in Frankfurt am Main.

Certificate to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross issued on 15.6.1944. "Vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis" with original ink signature of Generalleutnant Burgdorf. Knight's Cross awarded on 9.6.1944 as commander of II./Gren.Rgt.57. Folded once. Good condition.
 
Large size certificate to the German Cross in gold. Issued to Bausch as an Oberleutnant serving as Kompanie leader of 1./Infanterie-Regiment 36 on 5.11.1942. Original ink signature of Generalfeldmarschall Keitel. Folded once. Slightly cut. Size: 22,3cm x 32,3cm.
 
Small size "Vorläufiges Besitzzeugnis" to the German Cross in gold issued on 5.11.1942. Original ink signature of Keitel. Folded twice. Good condition.
 
Certificate of the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class issued on 25.6.1941. Signed by the commander of 9.Infanterie-Division Generalmajor Siegmund Freiherr von Schleinitz. Folded once. Good condition.
 
Certificate to the Kuban Shield. Issued on 1.11.1944. Facsimile signature of Generalfeldmarschall von Kleist. Folded once. Good condition.
 
Field issued certificate to the Infantry Assault Badge in silver. It comes with an additional confirmation document. Issued on 31.8.1941. Signed by the regiment commander. Folded twice. Good condition.
 
Field issued certificate to the Close Combat Clasp in bronze for 15 days of close combat. Issued on 31.8.1943. Signed by the regiment commander. Folded twice. Good condition.
 
Certificate to the Wound Badge in black. Folded once. Signed by the commander of Grenadier-Regiment 36.
 
Rumanian certificates issued in 1942 and 1943 for the Order of the Romanian Crown and the Order of the Star of Romania. Both folded twice. Good condition.
 
Other certificates & documents:
Two large size SA promotion certificates with original ink signature of the Stabschef of the SA Wilhelm Schepmann.
Embossed printed stamp and nationale eagle. Not folded. Very nice condition.
 
Full color sport certificate for a shooting competition of Sturmbann II/222. Bausch was "Bester Einzelschütze". Signed by the SA-Obersturmbannführer. Original framing and glass.
 
Personal dog tag with original lanyard. Personal Infanterie-Regiment 36 Hauptmann shoulder boards in nice condition. These are the ones you see on the large portrait photo and also on small size photos.
 
SA Sport's Badge booklet as well as his NSDAP red membership ID booklet. Both with a nice photo in SA uniform. Award document for the 10 years NSDAP Long Service Award inside. Bausch served as SA Sturm 1/222 of Gruppe Hessen.
 
Hand-written document of congratulation by Oberpostdirektor Dr. Raabe with best wishes for the Knight's Cross. A March 1945 document mentioned Bausch is reported missed in action. 
Newspaper "Due Deutsche Post with an article on Richard Bausch as the 10th Knight's Cross recipient of the German Reichspost. This article provides a lot of information on his service time including information on how he won his Knight's Cross. 
 
Several wartime regimental orders, one POW letter as well as postwar IDs.
 
Photos:
64 original photographs. Many show Bausch with his German Cross or Knight's Cross. Quite a few were taken in the field. Most of them come with interesting information written to the reverse. The lot excludes 6 postwar copies of one of his portrait photos.
 
War diary:
Personal hand-written war diary starting in March 1942. It ends on 29.7.1942. 24 pages in total. Marked as "Heft 3 (Russland).
There must have several of these note books existed.
 
Important comprehensive grouping to a highly decorated German officer of World War II.
