Spanish Civil War "CTV" banner
Description
Rare silk banner of the CTV (Corpo Truppe Volontarie). The Corps of Volunteer Troops was a Fascist Italian expeditionary force which was sent to Spain to support the Nationalist forces under General Francisco Franco against the Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).
Multi-piece silk construction with hand-stiched letters and fasces. Silver wire french to three sides. Silk backing in Italian colors. A 38mm ribbon from ripped silk in Spanish colors red-yellow-red to the reverse.
Signs of age. A few rips. Over all good condition.
This was probably mounted on a pole one. Loops missing.
