Description
Family purchased grouping to SS-Obersturmführer Sigmund von Halasz who served with II./SS-Geb.Jäg.Rgt.12 Michael Gaißmair“ (SS-Gebirgs-Division Nord) and was killed in action on 28.10.44 in Finland (11km East of Muonio). Von Halasz, born in 1907 in Posen, was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and served with the Allgemeine-SS since at February 1932. His SS and NSDAP numbers are available in the documents.

There are 25 original photographes dating from 1929 until 1943. One shows the rare cuffband SS-Junkerschule Braunweig on the sleeve of a uniform. 7 original period documents as well as 13 documents from the Berlin Documentation Center (Bundesarchiv) which were orderd by his son. Furthermore a copy of the -Exam Questions for Leaders- from 1938.

There is two period time cards announcing his wedding in 1938 and an original death notice card from 1944. There is one letter sent from his commander SS-Sturmbannführer Arthur Messner. He describes how von Halasz was killed in action as a Kompanie leader.

The postwar Bundesarchiv copies are all available data on Sigmund von Halasz and are a great source of research. They include all information on his service time available.
