Description
Important photographs coming from a collector who knew Walter Frentz personally. He collected the photos given from Frentz inside a book on Walter Frentz "Das Auge des Dritten Reiches".

Walter Frentz was a German cameraman, film producer and photographer, who was considerably involved in the picture propaganda of Nazi Germany. During the Nazi regime in Germany, he worked as a cameraman for Leni Riefenstahl and was closely associated with photographing and filming activities of high ranking military and political leaders of the Third Reich including Adolf Hitler.

All photos, negatives and color slides inside the book coming directly from Frentz. There are period time originals as well as postwar photos taken from his original negatives. There are several notes and signatures of Frentz. He even forwarded the copyright on many originals to the collector as stated on the very last page.

There are several extremely rare and never published photographs of Adolf Hitler. 9 photographs are showing Eva Braun. There is Göring, Speer and other high ranking individuals including high ranking Waffen-SS Generals. Most of the photos were taken at Hitler's Berghof. Frentz writes that many were taken in 1945. Four photos show officers looking at a convertible Volkswagen.

Most of the photos are so-called "Kontaktabzüge" (contacting prints) which are of small size and on original AGFACOLOR paper.

One color negative shows Hitler looking at dogs at the Wolfschalze. If that one is period time, we can't say. It is unmarked. Another one of the same type shows Hitler at Truppenübungsplatz Rügenwalde.

Certainly very interesting is an original AGFACOLOR color slide which comes well protect in a modern slide showing Hitler going for a walk with SS officers. It is in excellent condition.

There is one roll of 6 negatives which should be postwar copies of original photos. The roll is AGFA APX 100 marked.

There look to be 46 photos in total which the collector has added to the thematically matching pages of the book. Most of the photos are either glued to the book or to old paper backing.
