Waffen-SS M43 officer's field cap
Description
Waffen-SS, officers'-pattern M43-type field-cap (ie. 'Einheitsfeldmütze für Offiziere') as was intended for the various commissioned- ie. officer-staff. Privat purchased example.
The piece is executed in (typical) field-grey-coloured wool and shows a yellowish-brown-coloured (and 'silk-like'-type) lining (that shows some fading and period repairs). The cap is totally void of any size- and maker-designation (which might have well been once present but that has 'faded-away' during regular usage).
The cap comes without any insignia: the stitching-remains of where they were once placed are, however, clearly visible. The cap shows a partial, leather-based sweat-band and has two silver-grey-coloured (and metal-based) closing-buttons in place.
The side-cap comes in an overall nice condition but does show moderate age, staining and/or wear. It is approximately 57/58 cms. and will with certainty fit a mannequins'-head.
