Description

Extremely rare Luftwaffe "Borddolch" to Willy Doering. Not only that this is the earliest type of Borddolch the Luftwaffe issued, but it also comes with an extremely rare etched blade. Borddolch daggers with etched blade are extremely hard to come by.

1st type Borddolch with an early type of scabbard featuring the early style of fittings. With matching chain with an Assmann maker marked and DRGM marked scap-clip (spring missing). Leather finished with blue leather.
Leather finished grip with intact wire. Gilding left to all four swastikas. Matching patina to all tombak metal parts.

A perfectly clean blade without a maker's mark. Etched with fine ornaments to both sides. Additionally, one side shows a German aircraft. The other side shows the name and city of the owner: "Willy Doering Bernburg / Saale 1938".

Including a 1976 "25 years Faithful Service" decoration award booklet to Doering.

A stunning dagger with lovely patina. Untouched and in very nice condition! A rare chance!
