Description
Grouping to Hauptmann Heinrich Priemer. Priemer was born on 16.7.1901 in Chemnitz. Riemer lost his right hand at Ramensskaja (?) near Stalingrad in 1943. He spent several months in military hospitals and was then sent to the Volkssturm in 1945. He survived the war and worked as a Forstmeister (forestry, also his pre war job). His exact units are unknown so far however he definitely served with Inf.Rgt.344 and Inf.Rgt.174 as well as with 362 Inf.Div..

Heer Infantry officers visor cap. Very nice condition. Not one moth hole. Gold silk lining with a makers mark in the diamond which is extremely hard to make out however it is EREL. There is also an EREL mark in the sweat-band. There is a stamp to the inside of the sweat-band which looks like a 1939 date. Stiched wreath and metal cap eagle. It never had a stitched eagle attached. Nice shape. Size 58/59.

Fine private purchased 4-pocket field tunic made from Italian gabardine. Very nice condition. No damage or moth holes. Machine-applied period time attached collar tabs. Matching shoulder boards. Loops for his three awards to the left breast pocket. Original hand-stiched officers breast eagle. Postwar attached in my opinion. It might have remaining inside a pocket. Size M. Good condition 2.

His three medals: 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, a fine tombak Wound Badge  in silver (13 marked) and his Infantry Assault Badge in silver (unmarked). All in nice condition 2. Furthermore there is a ribbon for the Iron Cross 2nd Class.
Whats really nice about his medals is that he added small notes to every award explaining more details. He even states that his 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class was lost during the France Campaign! On the paper of the Iron Cross he states that he lost his right hand at a battle at Ramensskaja (?) near Stalingrad in January 1943.

Priemer kept three shell splinter and one bullet. The big shell splinter he used as a desk decoration must be the one which destroyed his hand.

There are two Soldbuch to Hauptmann Priemer. One was issued in 1939 and comes with quite a few entries, however it looks like it stayed at home. The condition is very good. His other Soldbuch, issued in 1942 was clearly used by him. It comes with a nice picture of Priemer wearing his medals. Page 3/4 is missing (promotions and units) and one page is loose. Page 22 list his awards: 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Wound Badge in silver, Iron Cross 1st Class and Infantry Assault Badge in silver. A great reference book on his period time!

His February 1945 dated VOLKSSTURM Soldbuch. Issued to Priemer as a Volkssturmmann. He must have been degraded for his lost hand maybe?

There is his Wehrmacht drivers license, two Third Reich family ancestry books as well as a few postwar ID cards. Also 5 photos. 4 of them clearly show Heinrich Priemer.

A nice grouping which came of a household closing according to the first owner.
