Description
A impressive medal grouping to a highly decorated soldier who was most likely killed in action.
The family would have ordered the medals displayed in that frame for their home.

The frame is a stunning wooden-glass construction from very high quality. The black paint reminds on the lacquer they used for pianos.

Inside is a framed portrait photo of the soldier and his medals:
- 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Schinkel type
- Infantry Assault Badge in bronze, hollow, tombak
- 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, most likely a Steinhauer & Lück
- Westwall Medal

On wooden base with period time attached engraved dedication plaque:
"UNSERM LIEBEN SOHN HERMANN ZU GEDENKEN" (To commemorate our loved son Hermann)

Overall height: 45cm
Width: 43,5cm

A unique grouping in great condition!
