Period time drawing of Major Helmut Leicht, a recipient of the Oak Leaves to the 1939 Knight's Cross. Leicht served as a Staffelkapitän 2./Stuka-Geschwader 77 when he was awarded the Knight's Cross on 3.9.1942. He was posthumously awarded the Oak Leaves as Kommandeur III./Stuka-Geschwader (later Schlachtgeschwader) 10 on 24.10.1944.
He was reported missed in action on 26.6.1944 near Witebsk when Russian units were attacking his unit. Leicht had over 900 missions.
