Description
He started his Kriegsmarine service time on 3.12.1938. A photo shows im as a young "Rekrut 1938". He visited Marineschule Kiel from 1938-1939, served in Denmark in 1940 and with Kommando "Python" from September 1941 until February 1942.

Python was transferred into a U-Boot supply boat and was sunk during its first missing in South Atlantic.
Ironically, Python carried the crew of "Hilfkreuzer" Atlantis (sunk on 23.11.1941) at the time it was sunk. Over 414 men were rescued by German and Italian boats.

This album is a great document on both the damage and sinking of Python. Probably the only one still around.

There are nice photos taken during the supply mission of Python inside this album. Photos taken during the "Äquatortaufe" on an U-Boot. You can also see the emblem of the U-Boot.

The following pages are titled "Norwegen 1942-1945 Neumark". The last pictures are Christmas 1944 dated followed by some taken in Oslo in the summer time.

The last pages show photos taken postwar.

147 wartime photos. 27 postwar photos. A few more loose postwar photos. Two show John F. Kennedy and Bundeskanzler Willy Brandt.

Complete. Some loose. Good condition 2.
