Extremely rare grouping to Ludwig Herkens who celebrated his 100th birthday in 1942. It contains a limited 2nd pattern "100th birthday" edition porcelain cup presented by Hermann Göring, a letter and congratulation of Göring as well as a personal letter of Adolf Hitler. Furthermore, there are original photographs of Herkens, who was a 1866 and 1870/71 war veteran.
High quality fine porcelain cup with gilt embossed Third Reich national eagle with swastika. Gilt rims and corners. KPM maker marked. 125/695 numbered.
No chips or damage. No signs of use. Condition 1.
Height: 10cm.
Including the original matching porcelain saucer with initials "LH" custom made to the center. It says "ZUM 100. GEBURTSTAG REICHSMARSCHALL HERMANN GÖRING". Diameter: 25cm. Numbered and marked. Excellent condition.

Facsimile signature of Hitler. 18.3.1942 dated. Period time framed.
Handwritten letter of congratulations sent by Hermann Göring. "Der Preußische Ministerpräsident" letter head. Embossed printed national eagle. Original ink signature of Hermann Göring who sent best wishes for his 100th birthday. This letter was sent with the actual presentation cup including 100RM as it says in the letter. Period time framed.
Part of the grouping two original photos taken on the day of Ludwig Herkens 100th birthday in 1942. It is extremely rare to have a "face" to a 100th birthday prevention cup grouping! Herkens wears his medals.
There is the certificate to the "Hindenburg Cross" to his son, Wilhelm Herkens, a WW1 veteran. Furthermore his Wound Badge in black certificate.
A 1943 letter to the family of Ludwig Herkens offering a free grave for Herkens who died with 101 years of age.
Finally, a period time document on veterans of the city of Aachen area. Herkens is mentioned there and shown on a picture. The document provides information on his war service time in 1866 and 1870/71.
