Extremely rare 1941/42 dated tropical Wehrmacht gas mask with can issued to Afrikakorps troops.
The can comes with full original khaki paint which was however period time overpainted with grey color later. The grey color goes off easily with your finger nail. It might be worth removing all grey color to make this a wonderful tropical set again!
The rubber masked is still very soft and comes with all straps. It is "byd" maker marked. One strap is marked. Mask and filter come with original khaki paint which is extremely rare!
It comes with a "20.8.1941" date stamp to the inside of the mask.
"ebu 42" maker marked and dated to the inner box (empty) usually holding extra glasses.
It looks like this gas mask set was re-issued to Danish troops postwar. This is indicated by the "G" and "48" marking. This is where it could have been repainted.
