Description
SS-Polizei (ie. 'SS-Polizei-Rgt. Todt'), EM-/NCO-pattern, field-tunic ('Feldbluse') having a rare cuff-title: 'SS-Polizei-Rgt. Todt' period-attached. The tunic - which is executed in the typical 'Polizei', bluish-green-coloured type wool - comes in a moderately used and/or worn, condition: it does show age and staining (and shows some minimal moth-hole-damage). The tunic has a brownish- (ie. tan-) coloured, linnen-type lining and bears a clearly present ink-stamp that reads: 'Po 1944' (there is also a size-marking-stamp present but this is somewhat faded and hard to read).

The tunic retains all its (firmly-attached) buttons and shows the 'pleaded' front-pockets as to be expected. The piece shows 3-holes (for belt-hook attachment) and has lost some of its woolen 'nap': the tunic has, as stated above, clearly been used. The tunic is medium-sized and has a waist of approximately 85 cms. It came with a (matching) pair of typical 'Polizei'-related NCO-pattern shoulder-boards (which come loose from the tunic and have the rank of: 'Hauptwachtmeister'), a 'Polizei'-type collar-tab pair, a bright-green-coloured 'Polizei'-type arm-eagle, a neatly hand-embroidered 'SS-Runes'-patch (denoting affiliation to the Waffen-SS) and a (rarely seen!) chocolate-brown-coloured 'Ärmelstreifen' ie. cuff-title entitled: 'SS-Polizei-Regiment Todt'. (Of interest is moreover that the shoulder-boards show both a pair of '21'-numerals- ie. 'cyphers' attached).

The tunic also bears a linnen-based name-etiket attached to the inside that reads: 'Willy Bergelt'. All insignia-pieces - apart from the shoulder-boards - seem to have been period-attached (by means of a machine and by hand). Simply a complete - and rarely seen! - SS-Polizei-tunic that came as such from a private household and that was clearly worn by a: 'Polizei-Hauptwachtmeister' who served within the: 'SS-Polizei-Rgt. Todt'!
