Description
Waffen-SS, officers'-pattern 'M44'-type tunic and riding-pants (ie. 'Breeches-hose') as intended for a: 'SS-Untersturmführer der Sanitäts-Truppen'. The (tailot-made) set was clearly always together and was produced from (typical) later-war-pattern, so-called: 'Italian'-wool. Both (battle-dress-like) tunic and riding-pants have a (somewhat) shiny) greyish-green-coloured- and linnen-based lining and are both void of any (size- and/or maker-) markings (something that is typical for a tailor-made set). All metal- (and/or resin-based-) buttons (on both tunic and pants) are period to the set and were with certainty period-attached. The tunic shows a pair of Waffen-SS-pattern officers'-type shoulder-boards attached: these show the darker-blue-coloured branch-colour (and have the 'woolen'-type piping attached). The shoulder-boards come mounted on their (slim-sized) officers'-type tongues and never had any pips nor cyphers attached denoting the rank of: 'SS-Untersturmführer der Sanitäts-Truppen' (or medical-lieutenant and most likely a doctor ie. 'Artzt'). The tunic shows a (matching) pair of hand-embroidered collar-tabs attached and shows a silverish-grey-coloured (and 'BeVo'-woven) arm-eagle attached (done by machine 'zig-zag'-stitching). (Of interest is the fact that this eagle is of the EM/NCO-pattern, something that was more often observed). The tunic is of a medium size (and has a waist of approximately 78 cms.: the pants have an equal waist-size and have a length of approximately 95 cms. This matching uniform-set was truly never worn nor used and simply cannot be upgraded!
