Oil of Reichskommisar für die Niederlande and SS-Obergruppenführer Arthur Seyß-Inquart.

Arthur Seyß-Inquart was born on 22. July 1892 in Stannern. Already in 1931 he sypatized with the NSDAP and joined in 1938. He also joined the SS 1938. For two days he served as Bundeskanzler of Austria, before the "Anschluss" annexation of Austria by Germany. During the WW2 he served as Reichskommisar für die Niederlande and was involved in war crimes. At the Nürnberg trials Seyß-Inquart was found guilty. He was hanged in Nürnberg Prison on 16. October 1946, together with nine other defendants.

A fine painted portrait. Framed. "SP" artist's signature and "1944" dated. "Bilderhandlung Höger Wien" marked to reverse. Postwar framed.
