Description
Waffen-SS, enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) pattern visor-cap (ie. 'Schirmmütze') being an example that originates from a WWII-period foreign (ie. Belgian) production.

The cap is produced from (standard-type) field-grey-coloured and woolen material and has a 'standard-pattern'-, black-coloured visor in place. It has the (white-coloured- and fairly thin-shaped) rayon-like-type piping attached.

It shows a black-coloured and (shiny) leather-based cap-band (ie. 'Sturmriemen') attached (which is of the 'regular' ie. non-Waffen-SS-type) and has a yellowish-beige-coloured and linnen-based interior (that shows a 'cellophane'-based 'Raute' in place). It is totally void of any marking nor stamp.

The brownish-coloured- and genuine leather-based sweatband is also present and in place. The cap shows a (later-war-period) greyish-silver-coloured- and zinc-based skull- and/or eagle-device, period-attached.

The cap - which is a fair size and measures approximately 56/57 cms. - simply shows no wear nor age and has retained a very nice shape overall. It shows some minimal staining (simply caused by decades of storage only).

The piece was reported to originate from a Belgian Waffen-SS soldier named: 'Gottlob Glaffey'.
