Waffen-SS, reversible camouflaged helmet-cover ('Helmbezug') being an example of the first pattern as produced from typical so-called: 'Platane'- (ie. 'plane tree'-) pattern, cloth.
The cover retains all of its three helmet-attachment-hooks (which are constructed from aluminum and that retain a fair bit of their 'anodized'-finish).
All three (fragile) springs are present and in place (but have come loose and are regrettably not functional). The cover - which is fairly large-sized - shows a blue-inked size-designation on its autumn-side (that reads: 60 - 62') something that is more often encountered.
Of interest is, moreover, the fact that its front has been period-fortified with a tiny piece of camouflaged 'Heeres'-cloth (being of the 'Splittertarn-Muster'). The cover comes in a wonderful and complete condition and is of unmistaken rarity.
The cover was with certainty used and worn: consequently, does it show some minimal age, wear and/or regular staining but is totally void of any damage or alike.
