Description
Untouched family purchased document grouping to Leutnant Hubert Eichner serving as a Kampfflieger and Staffelführer with III./Kampfgeschwader 26. Eichner was born on 21.6.1920 in Regensburg. He was reported missed in action at the North Africa coast on 6.12.1942 on the way to Bone airport. Part of the grouping is a letter confirming that his aircraft was attacked by an enemy nightfighter. One engine has caught fire. His aircraft crashed in the sea. Hubert Eichner was posthumously awarded the Luftwaffe Honor Goblet on 22.2.1943.

The grouping contains two folders which came of the family exactly like that. The grouping was never available on the market before.
Hubert Eichner is listed as observer of Oberleutnant Erich Kröning (Honor Goblet, German Cross) who was shot down on the first day serving with K.G.100. Eichner must have been in the same aircraft. See: http://www.aufhimmelzuhause.com/id145.htm
