Description

Personal "Legion Condor" cigarette case to Luftwaffe Flak Unteroffizier Paul Zinser. Zinser served with Flak unit 5./F88. "L.C.88" is written to the front side as well as "1936 - 1938". A Luftwaffe eagle is shown. A high-quality gold plated case. Please note that there are only minor rests of gold finish left to the reverse. Size: 8,5cm x 7,5cm. A very rare and high quality example!

Paul Zinser was a highly decorated Luftwaffe Legion Condor soldier and served with Polizei-Batallion 315 later in war. Polizei-Bataillon 315 was responsible for several war crimes and involved in the killing of 18000 Jews in November 1941 near Rowno. It was later involved in anti Partisan combat together with Infanterie-Regiment 102 South of Bobruisk (Unternehmen Bamberg). "Unternehmen Bamberg" started in February 1942 and ended in 1942. Over 3500 people were killed. Paul Zinser was killed during this campaign.
