Third Reich forestry hunting dagger - engraved

Description

A period time forestry hunting dagger. Around 30's/40's. Horn handle. Brass metal parts with matching patina. Fine etched blade with hunting scenes on both sides. Etched to three sides. "E.&.F.Hörster, Solingen" maker marked.

Leather finished scabbard with brass fittings.

The dagger was postwar issued to Mathilde I. for her faithful service. Engraved "Für treue Dienste, Mathilde I. 1967-69" to the back of the upper fitting of the scabbard.

Length: 48cm.
