Description

Untouched Heer Kavallerie visor cap which belonged to Gefreiter and reserve officer's candidate Gerhard Strien. He was killed in action on 18.6.1940 in France. The cap stamped with "Aufklärungsabteilung 29 Gotha" unit stamp to the reverse of the sweat-band. In addition, there is a "Gerhard Strien" name tag to the liner.
Maker marked to the intact celluloid diamond. Sweat-band with nice patina. Matching as well as originally attached aluminum cap insignia. The cockade is slightly deformed.

Complete with its chin strap (see damage to one side) and a newspaper cut-out announcing his death.

A nice and quite rare visor cap with minor sign of wear and bright colors. Minor moth bits.

Very large size 60!
