U.S. ARMY field camouflaged M3 trench knife. The trench knife was found a few years ago in the village of Trois-Ponts in the Ardennes, Belgium. The 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion and the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment are the two Airborne units known for painted their uniforms and equipments in green and black paint. The camouflage paint has been sprayed over the scabbard. The knife is manufactured and marked « IMPERIAL » on the underside of the cross-guard and has the US ordinance marking as well. Period personalized along the sheath with the application of a leather piece. A name « Barny » is engraved on the back of the scabbard. The knife is in good used and as-found condition.
