A German M40 helmet. The type of helmet was issued to Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, Polilzei and Waffen-SS troops. This example was issued by the Luftwaffe.
Paint: Original factory paint. Around 90% still present. Signs of wear and age. Signs of another period time "field-painted" color.
Decals: The eagle decal is about 90%.
Lining: Flexible leather lining. Still soft. Original cord. Most probably size 57.
Unopened prongs. The liner is original to the shell.
